Paula Deen is Opening a New Waterfront Restaurant in Savannah

We didn't get to visit the store. Your Savannah adventure ends with a trolley ride back to the tour's starting point. Most of the trip is riding the trolley with a couple times you could get out or take a picture and a short walk across two streets to dinner. Of course there was time for shopping in the restaurant gift shop and then we were brought back to our hotel. There's really nothing the trolley people could do to fix the problems with this tour other than discontinue it.

Paula Deen Tour: Trolley Ride and VIP Dinner at Lady & Sons 2020

She was a great host on our trolley tour and the dinner at Lady and Sons was wonderful. We serve up endless portions of Southern-Style entrees and side dishes and every visitor ends their meal with a dessert of their choice! Some say the menu items are more like the dishes on her show. Guests can enjoy a stunning, waterfront view and warm southern hospitality day or night. Too bad we tour group were not able to sample that food. Our driver Jon was very knowledgeable and made the entire process easy. We had 3 elementary age kids and one senior adult in our group and everyone enjoyed the trip. Creek House maintains a relaxing, family-oriented atmosphere for lunch and dinner.

Lunch

The tour was interesting and informative. The mashed potatoes were over done and swimming in butter. We were not rushed in any way at dinner, but really couldn't eat another mouth full! There's also a portion dedicated to her sons' barbecue, complete with baby back ribs, pulled pork tacos, and a sirloin that's been marinated in the Deen brothers' signature sauce. Dinner at lady and sons was delicious. Pass key locations that played a role in her career, including the first home she lived in after moving to Savannah in 1989 with two young sons. If you're a fan of the outspoken queen of Southern cuisine, Paula Deen, you won't want to miss this 2. There is much to be seen in Savannah, but I would recommend a different trolley tour to get the full ambience of the City.

Menus for Paula Deen’s Creek House Seafood & Grill

She did fantastic job telling Paula's like story and also showing the beautiful historic homes in Savanah and their history. A small buffet line I really expected many more choices that ran out of food as we got there just before 5:00. Doesn't get any better than that. By the time I got one, he and the other people at our table had all but finished eating. We were the last to get our dinner, so dessert was served when it was time to leave for the trolley. I would do this again and would recommend this trip to anyone interested in Paula Deen, Savannah, or Lady and Sons. I would recommend this tour to everyone.

Paula Deen: Shop at Paula's Retail Store

Like many of her eateries, the seafood-focused Creek House will feature Southern fried favorites like fried catfish, fried oysters, and fried shrimp, along with crab cakes, shrimp and grits, and more, as you can see on We'll save y'all a seat! It would have been nicer if we had more time at the restaurant. If all I was going to eat was from the buffet, I would choose a different restaurant. Dessert choices were a dry peach cobbler and a butter cake that was really bad. My husband chose the very dry fried chicken while I waited for the pork chops to be replenished. The mashed sweet potatoes looked ok, I did not try them. We were taken in by groups and seated. Today, the restaurant seats nearly 330 people and serves thousands of tourists and locals each week.

We had a wonderful time on our trolley tour. Take a trolley around town to hear about the celebrity chef's rise to fame while your guide points out key sites related to her career. Since then, it has grown into a world-renowned restaurant and full service catering venue. The other choices were lima beans, black-eyed peas and undercooked greens. The tour guide must have been new as he would start some statements and then say we'll come back to that. After topping off your meal with a decadent dessert, you can visit the gift shop and snap a photo with a life-size cutout of Paula Deen. Our driver Joycee was so amazing with her presentation.
