I took my friends child tonight to see a Diary of a Wimpy Kid at the Epic theatre in Palm Coast which was suppose to be an enjoyable event. I have spent thousands of dollars here with my family since they opened and will never return. Regarding the phone using or chatty customers I do wish the staff were more effective at stopping those behaviors. You also pick your seats at the time of purchase. Remember when I said the line goes to the sidewalk? This is one of the worst theaters I've ever been to.
Three groups need to be told there is no showing as advertised? The last couple of times we went the bathrooms were horrendous. For being a smaller theater, they do a nice job of having different big screen movies. We were there on a holiday weekend, so it was expected that the lines would be a little longer. . Thankfully, I received a refund.
It's a new building, they show movies in 3-D, and they serve wine and beer. We did hear the air conditioning running, sounds like it needs to be serviced, during non-action moments within the movie. You have to wait anyway. So my review is based on weeknights and daytime attendance. I don't normally come here and it's 2 minutes away so I'm not sure when it turned into a mess, but outside, there were no movie times listed at all, the lobby was a mess of used napkins, popcorn and soda spills. Unfortunately, if you buy your ticket online, you still have to stand in the line to buy tickets in-person.
I don't even like seeing movies out anymore. Ticket prices are a bit high, but on a plus this theater has so many movies to choose from. So far so good, right? Again, why I don't go on weekend nights. No questions asked, here you go. It is pretty standard as far as seating and concessions go no super plush recliners at this theater , and you don't have to choose your seats ahead of time. If you're sensitive at all to light or people talking, just rent a movie instead. Thankfully its a pretty great movie theater.
Jeff H the manager knew this information but feels that he shouldn't be proactive to call fandango and change these times. I asked if they had senior pricing for 3D and was told yes. What's the convenience they charge for? We always have to get up and ask people to be quiet, and most of the time they don't even stay quiet when we ask. There's a fine selection of popcorn and whatnot. Considering that I do not live in Clermont, Epic Theatres is not my go to movie theatre; however ideal movie times and errands in the area made this a reasonable option for us to see the new Thor movie.
We were there on Thursday, May 17. When I lived in Clermont, however, I used to visit this theater all the time, and recently visited with friends to see Alien: Covenant. No one ever came in and we watched the movie at a downward angle with a huge ass gap at the top. These guys worked at the theater. This place is in need of some refurbishment.
They charge a convenience fee, but when you get to the theater you still have to stand in line at the box office and hand them the credit card for them to print the tickets. Hey, If your gonna blow me off, cool. Maybe I just went on a good day but everything was very clean in my opinion. And I'll see you at the movies! The person in the box office was the only person I saw working there. Obviously, Management should manage better and properly train these young up and comers about customer service. We were there during an early weekday, for a movie that had been out for several weeks because we can't stand the people who can't be quiet, not use cellphones, etc.
It's a shame that the local movie-going public is at the mercy of this theater's idiocy. I would like to see ownership make quality improvements at the very least adding quality recliners. If that's senior pricing, how much was the cost for regular tickets?!? Just too expensive in my opinion. That's a pretty good illustration of how this place is run. You have to wait anyway. We are really in pain and, through social media, we discovered this happened about a month ago.
Concession prices are high and I'm ok with that because that's where they make their money. The seats are standard cloth and dont really recline at all but they are comfortable. I tried to like this theater. The theater doesn't allow Fandango, so you have to go direct through their site. There have been many times where I've had to ask about it. Hopefully these things will be rectified in the near future because it is very convenient location.
