I have received packages from other carriers without an issue and they usually just put it at the door since I live in a walk up. Well guess what, no one came at all. This experience was enough to get me to reset my yelp pw, login and leave a review! The package was shipped out and the tracking was showing it was delivered 5 days ago but our customer didn't have the package. She was extremely rude and I will definitely be reporting this encounter. I have had mixed experiences at this post office. Even something as simple and fundamental to their business as selling a measly little stamp is beyond their ability. The most recent call was answered and I was told to hold: which I did for twenty minutes before being disconnected again.
I have tried to reach the Lincoln Park office which is located at 2643 N. This experience was enough to get me to reset my yelp pw, login and leave a review! I had two pre-paid packages that I wanted mailed out and scanned in and they don't have that option. Not what I would expect from a post office. Or better yet why not just install a little machine that sells stamps??????? I believe the woman that answered the phone was Gabby. The package was shipped out and the tracking was showing it was delivered 5 days ago but our customer didn't have the package.
Come on, you had one job. No mail for 3 consecutive days now! Just reached out to Alderman Hopkins and Quigley's offices for help, don't know what else to do. Three calls were disconnected after 15 rings. There have been times where I was treated like I did not know anything and other times, it was a pleasure. Well today i literally waited outside for someone to arrive. Three calls were disconnected after 15 rings. The sign on the door says to leave packages in the lobby.
It took them best 5 minutes to explain to someone why a return receipt was not mailed on something. Despite the large building, for some odd reason this location only has a tiny little lobby and apparently all they do is lose packages, laugh and joke with each other, and dispense attitude to customers. If you would like to see first hand why the United States Postal Service is failing, do yourself a favor and visit this location. I am normally against privatization schemes but in this situation I think it's time to let the post office die. Then one of them asked if she could help. I called to inquire about a package that was blocked and the representative let me know that it was not delivered because there was no name on the mailbox. The address label states to leave the package in the lobby.
Also, they do not sell postage here so don't even bother trying to mail anything from this waste of space. If you want your packages scanned in, don't come here. I haven't written a review on here and years and sure didn't expect to now, but I felt I had to. I mean, why can they not change it on their system? Went there to drop off a prepaid package. However, I was pleasantly surprised that the woman working the counter was very friendly. One thing they don't do is sell stamps. I wish I could do something so I didn't have to deal with this particular post office.
What does it take to just get our regular mail?! I then explained the issue to her and let her do her thing. I thanked her and left with my package. Going there was a complete waste. Avoid this location at all costs, they don't do anything to try to help you anyway. Overall, I just try to avoid going in if I can, especially on weekends and after work hours. I was totally surprised and shocked.
I've tried calling numerous times, some with busy signals non-stop, another where they apologized for the inconvenience and mail would be coming out regularly again 4 days and still no mail , being put on hold for 20 mins and forgotten about and then calling back and not taking me seriously. No mail for two days, both neighbors on either side received mail. Each person had a pc in front of them. Roll over map and scroll. I just hope my packages make it to their destination. If you are assigned a customer service position, you should probably be good at customer service.
Literally the most ridiculous thing I have gone through with a postal service. What a miserable failure of an organization. I contacted this post office and was surprised that someone answered the phone within 3-4 rings if you've called many post offices before, you know they normally don't answer. There are 7 United States Postal Services listed in Lincoln park Michigan. Kept calling and they kept saying mail carrier is still on their way. First of all, the mailbox is too small for my package. But hey, thanks for getting me my package and enjoy getting everyone else's packages that they missed for a living.
The most recent call was answered and I was told to hold: which I did for twenty minutes before being disconnected again. She said she would talk to the delivery driver and look around the office and call me back. While looking for the phone number to that location I had found came across the yelp page and was not at all expecting a lot. Hope they get their act together in this location. Hopefully it still gets delivered, but because I was shipping an item I sold it was important that the buyer be able to see the tracking.
